We have all been there. It may have been a dinner out that resulted in over-eating or drinking alcohol. It may have been a birthday party, or a weekend getaway. What steps should you take to get back on track with your eating plan?
Here are a few tips to help you get back on track with your eating plan:
- Give yourself a break. Don’t be hard on yourself. You won’t lose all of the gains that you have made. Today is a new day and it’s a new start. Beating yourself up about what happened over the weekend won’t get you anywhere. Just acknowledge that you are human, and move on.
- Drink plenty of water through the day. You are most like dehydrated, so getting hydrated again is essential. Adding lemons to your water is a good idea. Lemons help to increase alkalinity in the body. Lemons will, also, help to detoxify your body. They will, also, help boost your energy and mood.
- Exercise is essential in helping you to feel better. You don’t have to do anything that is too strenuous, but just going for a walk will help to get oxygen into your cells and get your blood pumping. If you do decide that you feel up to doing more strenuous exercise, sweating will help to detoxify your body.
- Take B-Complex vitamins. B vitamins help with energy production, so taking this supplement will help to give you extra energy and help you to feel more like yourself.
- Get plenty of sleep. Catch up on your sleep to get your body back into your normal pattern. Sleep is essential for hormone balance. Cortisol is a stress hormone that is responsible for belly fat. Getting a restful night’s sleep will reduce cortisol levels in the body and will help get you back on track.
