you're in the right place

If you've spent years searching for answers — and walking away from every appointment with nothing but a normal lab result and a referral you didn't ask for — you already know that finding the right practitioner changes everything.

Not just someone who runs more tests. Someone who knows what to look for, has the clinical experience to interpret it, and understands that what's happening in your body right now didn't start in your thyroid.

That's the work I do.

The training behind the approach

I'm Dr. Lori Kalie — Doctor of Chiropractic, Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner, Integrative Health Practitioner, and Certified HTMA Pro.

I've been in clinical practice for 25 years. The last 12 have been dedicated exclusively to working with women who have Hashimoto's and thyroid dysfunction — women who came to me after years of being dismissed, mismanaged, or handed protocols that never touched root causes.

In that time, I've worked with over 1,000 clients.

My training spans chiropractic medicine, functional medicine (including advanced continuing education through Functional Medicine University), and cellular mineral analysis — a diagnostic tool that shows what standard blood work was never designed to catch. HTMA certification wasn't a box to check. It changed how I understand Hashimoto's at the cellular level, and it's now central to every client protocol I build.

What that training taught me is that knowing which test to run is only half the clinical skill. The other half is knowing when. The right intervention at the wrong time produces the same result as the wrong intervention entirely. Most protocols fail not because the tools are wrong — but because they're applied to a body that doesn't have the cellular energy to respond to them yet.

That's why I use comprehensive blood work and cellular mineral testing — and that's it. Not thousands of dollars in specialty panels before we've even started. Excessive testing is often a sign of test dependency rather than clinical skill. Knowing how to read what's already there, in the context of a full health timeline, is what actually changes outcomes.

the patterns don't lie

What I've learned from 12 years and over 1,000 clients

The clinical patterns are consistent. Women with Hashimoto's who aren't getting better aren't failing their protocols. Their protocols are failing them — because they're starting in the wrong place.

Here's what I see repeatedly in practice:

Long-standing nervous system dysregulation. Chronic fight-or-flight that started years — sometimes decades — before Hashimoto's became a diagnosis. The immune system doesn't attack without reason. The body doesn't stay in survival mode without cause. And no supplement protocol resolves what the nervous system is still holding onto.

This is also why supplements fail so many women with Hashimoto's. It's not the supplements. It's the sequence. When cellular energy is depleted — which shows up clearly on cellular mineral testing — the body doesn't have the means to process what's being added to it. More supplements into a depleted system creates more burden, not more healing. The engine has to be running before you add fuel.

Understanding what's happening at the cellular level before building any protocol isn't optional. It's the only way to know whether the body is ready to respond — and what it actually needs when it is.

Unaddressed trauma patterns stored at the cellular level. This is the piece most functional medicine practitioners skip entirely — not because it doesn't matter, but because they're not trained to work with it. Cellular mineral testing reveals these patterns. Minerals are mirrors of emotions. What shows up in the data consistently reflects what the body has been carrying.

This is where long-term healing actually happens. Not in the supplement protocol. Not in the elimination diet. In addressing what drove the nervous system into survival mode in the first place — and giving the body a clear signal that it's safe to come out of it.

That's why my work goes beyond functional medicine protocols. I integrate trauma-informed coaching directly into the clinical process. Because getting results is one thing. Keeping them requires going deeper than most practitioners are willing to go.

The 3R Method — Reset, Restore, Reclaim
Woman with energy and clarity after addressing Hashimoto's root causes

this is what I see

What becomes possible when root causes are actually addressed

The women I work with come in exhausted, foggy, and convinced this is just their new normal. What I see consistently on the other side:

🔹 Energy that holds through the day — no 2 PM crash, no couch by 7 PM

🔹 Weight dropping without extreme restriction — because the body finally feels safe enough to let it go

🔹 Brain fog lifting — reading an email once, finishing a thought mid-sentence, sitting through a full meeting without losing the thread

🔹 Feeling like themselves again — not a diminished version managing symptoms, but the person they remember being

These aren't outcomes from better supplements. They're outcomes from addressing what was actually driving the dysfunction — nervous system state, cellular mineral patterns, trauma held in the body, and the foundational work that makes everything else possible.

after 25 years

What I know to be true after 25 years in practice

Your body isn't broken. It's protecting you from something it still perceives as a threat.

Symptoms are communication. Fatigue, brain fog, hair loss, weight gain, anxiety — none of it is random. These are patterns. They point somewhere. The job is to follow them.

The right intervention at the wrong time is the same as the wrong intervention. Sequence matters more than most practitioners acknowledge. A body stuck in survival mode cannot utilize what's being given to it — no matter how targeted the protocol. Cellular readiness comes first.

Common doesn't mean normal. Feeling exhausted every afternoon isn't aging. Losing a third of your hair isn't just stress. The widespread nature of these symptoms doesn't make them inevitable.

Long-term healing requires more than a protocol. The foundations — nervous system regulation, trauma processing, mineral balance, sleep, nutrition, hydration — are the clinical prerequisite. Supplements and targeted support come after. In that order, because your body can't utilize what it doesn't have the cellular energy to process.

The goal is your independence. Not a lifelong dependence on me or any other practitioner. I want you to understand your body well enough to recognize your patterns, know what they mean, and trust your instincts.

Your symptoms are communication not a life sentence
